Win a Routledge language learning pack!

The National Centre for Languages has teamed up with Routledge to run a competition to celebrate Adult Learners' Week. All you have to do is answer a couple of simple questions at www.cilt.org.uk/alw and you could win one of five Colloquial language learning packs. The Routledge Colloquials are introductory courses available in over 70 languages.

Brits regret not learning languages

Not learning a foreign language is the biggest regret for British people. That is the conclusion of new research conducted by the Department of Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).

The study showed that French topped the list of subjects that people wished they had learnt (66%), with Spanish (63%) and German (49%) also favourites. More than one in four adults (27%) regret dropping a language at school, putting languages far ahead of other subjects they wish they had mastered.

A new service that connects students and professional Spanish teachers anytime, anywhere in the world has been launched.

The SpanishPod.com 10-minute phone lessons allow students to practice their Spanish conversational skills and interact with teachers on a daily basis. Additional support can be provided by the teacher within a private online platform. Lessons in Chinese are also available.
